Marjane Satrapi, the writer/illustrator of the graphic novel Persepolis will be speaking at Amasa Stone Chapel (on Euclid Ave. across from Severance Hall) on the CWRU campus on Friday April 4 at 4:30pm. Event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 4pm.
George Woideck says: "Persepolis is the story of a young Persian girl growing up during the Islamic revolution in Iran. It was recently released as an animated movie and was nominated for an Academy Award. The film will be shown at the Cleveland Cinemateque later that evening. I highly recommend both events, plus the book if you haven't read it. It's a powerful graphic novel of horrendous events told through a child's eyes."

A Mid 20's Emancipation
Rachel Kibbe has started her own blog. A kind of 'stream-of-consciousness' that sometimes overflows it's banks, she ''just started [it] yesterday when I was bored at work."
Be sure to check out her plan to pay for Parsons in the Fall.

A farewell to Zoe Alan Schultz
Hello all,
As some of you may know, my dear friend..., roommate.., teacher.., and sister, Zoe Alan Schultz has recently transcended this life a little over one month ago after a battle with ovarian cancer.
I cannot express enough the love and beauty I have experienced sharing this journey with her and her family. I feel lucky and grateful that I was able to live and work closely with such an amazing and beautiful woman and artist.
This weekend in Cleveland was very impactful. Especially in the way two very talented individuals took on the task of fundraising for the Schultz family through a performance at the Cleveland Public Theater.
Please enjoy this image from that performance in honor of one of the most inspiring, motivated, open, dedicated and joyful people I have ever known. Her love and spirit lives on in us all.
That broad now rocks out in the universe!! Peace and love to YOU ALL!!
xoxoxoxo,

Cleveland Film Festival choices 3.7—3.16
Check out www.clevelandfilm.org for the films listed below (or pick up a guide).
There's a lot of interesting movies this year. Due to conflicts with other events, the films I'm thinking of seeing are:
Friday, March 7th 9:45 The Orange Chronicles
Saturday, March 8th 1:45 Independent Shorts Program 2
Sunday, March 9th 2:15 The Cool School, LATER possibly View From the Bridge, The Metrosexual or Vogelfrei
Monday, March 10th 7:00 Chinese Art Today (Johnny Mangos beforehand to benefit Art House?)
Thursday, March 13th 7:00 Gone with the Woman, 9:30 Island Etude
Friday, March 14th 7:15 The Substitute
Saturday, March 15th 4:15 Armin
Sunday, March 16th 2:00 Independent Shorts Audience Awards (AND/OR 11:30 Independent Shorts Jury Awards), 4:30 Super Noble Brothers (film crew is having their party at Lava Lounge Sat. night!)
Obviously I'm not going to see ALL of these movies. These are just the best timing-wise etc. Touch base if you're interested in any particular show.
