The city of Cleveland, through its Public Art Program, is requesting qualifications from single artists or teams of artists interested in producing artwork for any or all of three new public art projects with in the city. The public art opportunities arise out of capital improvements recently undertaken by the city’s water division. If you visit the competitions page of the Cleveland Public Art website, you can download a concise version of the call, which provides all the information you would need, or, if you prefer, a slightly more elaborate version is also available.Project budgets range from $25,000 to $149,000. Cleveland Public Art is a private, non-profit organization administering this call under contract to the City of Cleveland.
Art projects will be in wards 6, 11, and 13 in proximity to city water facilities. About $211,000 has been set aside to spend on artists' projects. The New submission deadline is Friday, November 7th, 2008.
