Named the "best reading series" in Cleveland by Cleveland Magazine, Brews + Prose returns this Tuesday, May 6th by welcoming Kristin Ohlson and Ben Stroud. The reading begins at 7PM in the Ohio City Room of the Market Garden Brewery. The authors' books will be available for sale during the event AND every book sold comes with a free beer. It is recommended that those who would like to eat at the event make reservations or plan to arrive early.
Kristin Ohlson's new book is The Soil Will Save Us: How Scientists, Farmers, and Foodies Are Healing the Soil to Save the Planet (Rodale, 2014). Her work has also appeared in the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, Salon, Discover, and elsewhere. An article about burning coal mines was featured in Best American Science Writing 2011. The author of Stalking the Divine, winner of the American Society of Journalists and Authors’ 2004 Best Nonfiction Book award, and coauthor of New York Times bestseller Kabul Beauty School, she lives in Portland, Oregon.
Ben Stroud is the author of Byzantium: Stories (Graywolf), which won the 2013 Story Prize Spotlight Award and the 2012 Bread Loaf Writers' Conference Bakeless Fiction Prize. His work has appeared in Harper's, One Story, Antioch Review, Boston Review, Best American Mystery Stories, and New Stories from the South, among others. He lives in Ohio and teaches at the University of Toledo.
