Carol and John’s Comic Shop, 17462 Lorain Ave. in Kamm’s Plaza Shopping Center, will give away 25,000 comics specially created for Free Comic Book Day. Last year more than 3,000 people went to the store for their free comics and this year they expect even more.
Marvel writer Marc Sumerak will sign and give away 200 copies of his graphic novel, “Franklin Richards, Son of a Genius” featuring the son of the leader of the Fantastic Four. The store will also sell lithographs of Spider-Man fixing a water main break at Public Square. Twenty area comic book artists will display their comic book work in a gallery set up at the store.
As always, Carol and John's goes way out to present a cool weekend: From 10PM Friday (May 2) to 2AM Saturday, 24 Cleveland artists will create free sketches on a first come, first served basis. Visit the store's website for a list of the artists and more.
