Cleveland West Arts League Show @78th St. Studios

Cleveland West Arts League: Populous Landscapes. Arlo Moon and Raphael Valdivieso paint symbolically rich canvases with high population density, but to different ends. Valdivieso summons crowds of brown- and gray-clad figures crowned in halos, creating troops of could-be saints. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 21st from 6–10PM. Through October 19th at 1300 West 78th St. Go to clevelandwestartleague.com.

Murray Hill Group Workshop and Pot Luck Party 9.8

THE DATE selected for the Murray Hill Group Workshop and Pot Luck Party at Larry Zuzik's place is Saturday, Sept. 8th. Hopefully it'll be nice enough to have a model outside. If not, pack supplies accordingly since inside space is limited. Format will be the usual; drawing from one or two models starting at 1PM and breaking out the food about 6PM.

Please bring something to share. EVERYONE is welcome for the potluck that starts at 6PM (or come with an artist and hang out, read etc. til 6PM.)

Booker T. Cleveland Society for the Learned 9.7

The Booker T. Cleveland Society for the Learned strives to unite through books. Inspired by the Book Club in Paris, the rules are simple: Bring a book that you have already read, and be prepared to swap it with another member of the society. Friday, September 7th at 6:30PM, will be a night of fun, conversation, and new friends.

From Andrew: 'We think it would be fun if people dressed up absurdly fancy. In costumes or three-piece suits and gowns and such; codpieces and monocles and whatever else you can imagine. The pictures would be hilarious. So, if you're looking for an excuse to get dressed up and drink in an old bank vault, this, 'mis amigos', is it.' But, it's not required. What IS Required, though, is:
NO BOOK, NO ADMITTANCE!
