Murray Hill Group Anniversary Show! 11.30 5–9PM

This year Tricia Kaman, together with the Murray Hill Drawing Group, is celebrating a very special 20-year partnership during this year's December Art Walk. Together in various configurations since the 1980s, The Murray Hill Drawing Group consists of artists who gather weekly to practice life drawing. The core of today’s Murray Hill Group began meeting twenty years ago in Tricia's art studio and gallery. Fine artists mingle with art teachers, graphic artists and animators, as well as those who practice art as more of an avocation. A tight-knit group has emerged over the years that support each other in their various artistic endeavors.

Tricia and the Murray Hill Drawing Group are hosting an Anniversary Show during the Art Walk this year, and cordially invite you to attend. Tricia and the members of the Drawing Group will be displaying their works of art for viewing and purchase, and have organized a spectacular display and exhibit that will commemorate their 20 years together. Tricia and various members of the Drawing Group will be hosting guests at an Opening Reception on Friday November 30th from 5-9PM, and will be open during the remainder of the Art Walk on December 1st and 2nd.

Peter and the Wolf Added to Holiday CircleFest 12.2

The Cleveland Institute of Music is pleased to be participating once again in University Circle's joyous seasonal festival Holiday Circlefest.

On Sunday, December 2, University Circle institutions present family-friendly events featuring music, shopping, food, exhibits and, of course, lots of holiday cheer.

Bundle up and walk the Circle to explore and enjoy the various activities or hop on the trolley, just be sure to hop off at East Boulevard and Hazel Drive to take in the sounds of the season at CIM and enjoy festive happenings at our neighbor's place, the Western Reserve Historical Society. The CIM Harp Ensemble will perform excerpts from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite in Mixon Hall with a special guest ballerina. This year, the CIM Orchestra will add Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf to the festive holiday music mix. CIM Carolers will bring in the holiday spirit and our "Yuleing Tubas" add some hefty holiday cheer as well.

After Circlefest wraps up, consider heading back to CIM for our Intensive String Quartet Seminar Gala Concert, "Magical Mendelssohn," at 6PM. The concert features the six complete quartets of Felix Mendelssohn and the finale of his octet. (See cim.edu for details.)

Booker T. Cleveland Society for the Learned 11.9

The Booker T. Cleveland Society for the Learned strives to unite through books. Inspired by the Book Club in Paris, the rules are simple: Bring a book that you have already read, and be prepared to swap it with another member of the society. Friday, November 9th at 6:30PM, will be a night of fun, conversation, and new friends.

Come check out what the new owners have done with Mahalls. Rumor has it that a few lanes are reserved for book club member use. Oh, and NO BOOK, NO ADMITTANCE!
