Brews + Prose at Market Garden Brewery 11.11, 7PM

Brews + Prose returns to Market Garden Brewery  Tuesday, November 11, 7PM. Join us to hear Kevin P. Keating and Thrity Umrigar. Readings take place in the Ohio City Room (downstairs). Books will be for sale at the event courtesy of Mac's Backs, and we continue to offer what we think is the best literary deal in town: buy a book and get a free beer. As always, we recommend that those of you who would like to eat before the event make reservations or arrive early.

More about this month's authors:

After working as a boilermaker in the steel mills in Cleveland and Chicago, Kevin P. Keating became an instructor of English and began teaching at Baldwin Wallace University and Lorain County Community College. The Natural Order of Things, his first full-length novel, was a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes/First Fiction Award. The novel garnered starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Booklist and praise from Pulitzer Prize-winning author Robert Olen Butler. His second novel, The Captive Condition, is scheduled for release as a Pantheon hardcover in July 2015.

Thrity Umrigar is the bestselling author of a memoir and six novels, including The Space Between Us, The World We Found and the recent The Story Hour. She is the winner of the Nieman Fellowship to Harvard, the Cleveland Arts Prize and the Lambda Literary Award. A former journalist, she has written for the Boston Globe, the Washington Post and the Huffington Post, among other publications. She is currently a professor of English at Case Western Reserve University.
