In case you didn't know: while gumbo and creole cooking are both parts of Louisiana culture, they’re not the same thing. Galactic is a funky band from New Orleans, but they aren't just Nawlins funky anymore. Their last several years’ worth of releases show them exploring everything from Brazilian samba, to electronica, to anything drummer/ composer Stanton Moore cares to toss in.
