Ikuko Miklowski was born in
Sapporo, Japan and came to the United States in 1995. She began to study pottery making in 1998 and quickly developed an award-winning signature style. Ikuko characterizes her work in stoneware and porcelain as "diminutive." Ikuko favors soft, understated glazing — influenced by the traditional wood-fired pottery of Japan.
