Ikuko Miklowski: Stoneware and Porcelain

Ikuko Miklowski was born in Sapporo, Japan and came to the United States in 1995. She began to study pottery making in 1998 and quickly developed an award-winning signature style. Ikuko characterizes her work in stoneware and porcelain as "diminutive." Ikuko favors soft, understated glazing — influenced by the traditional wood-fired pottery of Japan.
